We provide a variety of independent testing solutions for footwear, textiles and apparel. These testing processes include:
1. FIBRE IDENTIFICATION
This testing method utilises international benchmarking practices to decipher particular fibre types and the percentage of fibre components.
2. COLOUR MANAGEMENT TEXTILE TESTING
We provide colour verification against standards (CKS colour systems) as well as colour management of continuity, batch to batch variability and colour lotting to minimise discrepancy in finished articles. For the best results, we incorporate both electronic and visual colour management systems for improved accuracy.
3. COLOUR FASTNESS TESTING
Our colour fastness testing enables us to verify the long term performance in terms of textile colour. This is an important testing process as verifying the colour fastness to washing, bleaching, dry cleaning, perspiration, rubbing and light fastness is essential in determining textile longevity and performance. We also perform hydrolysis testing to determine how fabric reacts to water exposure.
4. PERFORMANCE TESTING
We offer a variety of testing processes which meet specific performance standards related to contract and consumer end use of textile products. These include the following:
• Dimensional stability testing
• Physical tests – Tensile and tear strength, abrasion
• Weathering tests – Accelerated weathering and extreme weather testing up to -40⁰C
• Chemical tests – Finish analysis and pH, acid or alkali resistance
• Seam performance in terms of slippage and break strengths
• Pilling and snagging testing
• Air permeability testing
5. FLAMMABILITY TESTING
Through using the latest electronic equipment, we are able to offer a wide range of flammability testing on almost any base fabric. This process can be completed in horizontal and vertical flammability testing processes in accordance with your specific requirements.
6. WATERHEAD, WATER RESISTANCE AND WATER VAPOR RESISTANCE TESTING
We perform electronic testing to determine the water resistance properties and water vapor permeability of certain textiles. In addition, we also measure spray ratings for each textile that undergoes this testing process.
7. FABRIC CHARACTERISTIC TESTING
Identifying fabric characteristics is essential for taking a product to market. Ends, picks, mass and fabric widths are key properties that define what is unique about a product. Yarn evaluation in terms of yarn counts, twist levels and composition are also done to offer comprehensive insights into fabric make-up and quality.
8. FOOTWEAR TESTING
Comfort and quality are essential when it comes to producing durable footwear. To achieve this, we offer our customers a selection of footwear testing options to assist them in developing the best footwear product to suit their market needs. These testing processes include:
• Slip, flex and cracking resistance
• Sole bond adhesion and seam & heel attachment strength
• Components – zips, touch/close fasteners and others
• Whole shoe appraisal
• Fit assessment
